Board Games For Critical Thinking

BOARD GAMES FOR CRITICAL THINKING

Our topic on this episode is something really dear to me and my children and basically the whole household as we are all board game fanatics.  Even my yayas are so good that I can barely beat them in Splendor.

I am a homeschooling mom and when both my kids were still being homeschooled, table top gaming was even an avenue for us for learning.  Even during the weekdays we would go to Gaming Cafes/Restaurants like Ludo and Dyce n Dine.

Then we decided to curate our own gameboard library and several hundreds of gameboards later – we opened up our own RecRoom Café in front of our tutorial and Review Center in Project 3.

For Jose Luis he loves Choose Your Own Adventure Solo Play Card Game, 5-minute Dungeon,  Pingo Pingo, Dixit, Inching Along, Fauna, Mathable, Animal upon Animal, Time Line, Dr. Eureka to help teach math concepts and reading and just over-all fun.

For Sam it’s Takenoko, Machi Koro, Sushi Go, Geitz Blitz, Catan, Pandemic, Exploding Kittens, Splendor, 7 Wonders, Lift It, Concep, Throw Throw Burito,  and many more.

In my Learning Center we make use of Salitaan – the Fillipino board game to help our students improve and learn better Filipino vocabulary skills.

Today, we’re blessed to have with us Mr. Willo Turingan, of Gaming Library to talk about everything and anything Board Games or table top gaming.
