Father’s Day Projects

This Father’s Day, let’s give the special men in our lives something personalized and useful by you! Below are some DIY gifts for Dads this Father’s Day. We have included a step-by-step instruction on how to do it. Feel free to put in your own creative suggestions to the suggested gifts and personalize them further! For those who do not have the time to prepare something special maybe you can find a personalized gift for them.

Whatever it is, a bought sentiment, a DIY gift, a kiss, a hug, a simple greeting – anything will do as long as we do not forget to show how much we love and appreciate them on their special day! Remember, Father’s Day 2012 is on JUNE 17, 2012!

PROJECT 1: BULLETIN BOARD

In this project we will jazz up a mini bulletin board.

1. Gather all the materials needed:

a. Mini bulletin board / cork board / white board
b. Patterned paper
c. Pair of scissors
d. Double sided adhesive / glue
e. Magnets
f. Push pins
g. Other materials to jazz up your board

2. Choose a combination of patterned papers and cut them up to size to fit the various sides/panels of your mini boards.

3. Adhere the patterned paper for the sides of the board with a glue/double-sided tape.

4. For the decorations within the insides of the board, attach the different papers/embellishments to a magnet.

PROJECT 2: MEMO PAD HOLDER

In this project, we will prepare a personalized memo pad holder for Dad!

a. Memo pad paper / holder
b. Patterned paper
c. Pair of scissors
d. Adhesive
e. Stickers / monogram letters
f. Rubber band

2. Remove the memo pad papers from the holder and wrap it with your chosen patterned paper.

3. Decorate the outside of the box with stickers or any other thing you feel would fit your Dad!

4. Put in the memo pads inside.

5. Cut a rubber band and put in the monogram letters. Tie a knot to the two edges of the rubber band.

6. Wrap the monogrammed letters with rubber band onto the memo pad holder.

PROJECT 3: BOX DRAWER

1. Gather all the materials needed:

a. Box drawer
b. Patterned paper
c. Pair of scissors
d. Adhesive
e. Stickers / monogram letters

2. Decorate the outside of the box with stickers or any other thing you feel would fit your Dad!
