Beading 101

Beading has been around forever.  It finds its beginnings as far back as when humans found a shell or stone with a natural perforation and began stringing it on a piece of vine to wear around their necks.  Beading has become popular f or its multifaceted use and function.  Some of these beads are worn as religious symbols, others for personal adornment and still others use it just for the fun of it.1

The love for beaded items transcends cultural and social barriers.  Gone are the days when beaded items are purely used for personal adornment, nowadays, you can find it in almost any item from household items to clothes and bags and the list just goes on and on.

Last month, I chanced upon a class that teaches Basic Beading!  I’ve been wanting to learn how to do this as I know I can use it to enhance my arts and crafts projects.

Here are the finished projects that I, together with the other class participants, was able to do that day.

From the basics, I am now enjoying this craft so much that I am already preparing new items that incorporate beads with the personalized gifts and souvenirs we are offering at my shop.  Watch out for the release of these beaded charms to personalize your gifts starting next month!

As a special note for those who would want to learn more about beading or start with the basics, my teacher Ms. Mariela of CampBeads Wire-Workshop is going to have another Basic Class this June 30th.  For more details, kindly text her at 0917-8981476 for more details!
