Why I Scrapbook?

SCRAPBOOKING is a creative outlet for a lot of people. It’s a means to practice and create really stunning layouts with the use of various media and techniques. I don’t consider myself a natural born artist but with the guidance and inspiration provided by really great artists in this field my love for this hobby has grown over the years.

I’ve been scrapbooking since I was a child but I guess school work and lack of more inspiring materials to use made me lose interest in it for a long time. My love for it however, was revived a decade ago when I couldn’t find a gift for my sister Kate. She’s quite a successful person and I wanted to give her something unique. After several days of going through the various stores in the malls I still couldn’t find one until I bumped into this cute store called S.M.I.L.E (Saving Memories Inspirations and Life’s Events). To cut a long story short, this store revived my passion for Scrapbooking and have not stopped since then.

Being married and with children had made me more convinced than before that I should pursue this hobby and come up with albums filled with layouts that would tell our family’s life story. Each of my children has their own scrapbook that chronicles their life. I would like to make these scrapbooks a means for them to know how life was when they were young and our wishes, desires and advice for them about everything and anything under the sun. I scrapbook about even the most basic things so that they would come to know about these things when they’re old enough. Although am so way behind in updating their scrapbooks, I don’t fret about it anymore. Scrapbooking is supposed to give us joy – not stress. So the only thing that should stop one from doing this is – time.
